This is a full-time post for a Teaching Assistant beginning February 2026.
The role is in the Primary Section of San Silvestre School (Grades 2-5/ages 7-11).

Roles and Responsibilities
General Duties
- Ensure that classroom organisation and administration procedures and tasks are effectively and efficiently carried out under the direction of the teacher.
- Support the implementation of learning programs within the classroom as directed by the Teacher.
- Keep the teacher adequately informed about student progress; issues within the class; parent communication and feedback; concerns about a student's development; or any other issue that will help the Teacher to effectively carry out his/her role.
- Ensure a full understanding of the classroom rules and be proactive in the management of student positive behaviour.
- Promote the inclusion of all students.
- Attend regular professional development opportunities as directed by the SLT.
- Supervise students' break times following the duty roster.
Supporting Learning in the Classroom
- Supervise and assist groups of students/individual students in activities set by the teacher.
- Address the whole class according to planning, enabling the teacher to concentrate on students requiring more direct input.
- Observe student performance and provide the teacher with valuable thoughts on what works for pupils and what obstacles to learning they encounter.
Planning, Preparation and Assessment /Administration Support
- Participate and collaborate in weekly lesson plans aligned with the school's grade level standards and benchmarks.
- Regularly discuss student progress with the teacher.
- Prepare materials ready for a lesson including worksheets, books and equipment.
- Monitor and collate evidence of student progress as directed by the teacher(s) e.g. data or information from observations.
Relationships
- Ensure a positive, open and professional relationship with the teacher(s), other colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team of the Section.
- Develop positive and appropriate relationships with the students that allow for care and affection as well as effective behavior guidance and management.
- Maintain and develop positive relationships with the parent community, ensuring that all parents' questions or concerns are resolved or passed on to the teacher.
Meetings
- Attend staff meetings, training and development sessions as directed by the Coordinators or a member of the SLT.
- Meet with specialists or psychologists when needed or requested by the Form Teacher.
- Attend weekly planning or coordination meetings within the year group(s).
Technology
- Maintain an understanding of educational technology and ensure the effective use of specific programmes in the preparation of resources for teaching and learning.
- Support the delivery of hybrid learning where required, as directed by the teacher.
Knowledge and Competencies Required
Essential
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- A commitment to inclusive education.
- A recognised qualification and experience in the care or education of students of Primary age.
- Experience working across the core Primary subjects (Language, Maths, Science).
- Strong information technology skills, including familiarity with Google Workspace for Education.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Some knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
Desirable
- Knowledge of the English National and Peruvian Curricula.
- Experience working in a bilingual school.
