Job Title: Operating Partner – SaaS

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Performance Bonus + Equity

About the Company

Our client is a top-tier private equity firm with a growing portfolio of SaaS and technology-enabled businesses.

They are seeking a seasoned Operating Partner based in the Los Angeles area to provide strategic and operational leadership across high-growth SaaS companies.

This role is pivotal to driving value creation, accelerating scale, and ensuring best-in-class execution across the portfolio.

Position Overview

The Operating Partner will work directly with portfolio company CEOs and executive teams to enhance operational performance, build scalable systems and teams, and support transformational growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in SaaS , ideally in both founder-led and PE-backed environments, and thrives in hands-on leadership roles where agility, influence, and strategic insight are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Engagement: Partner with leadership teams to drive strategic planning, go-to-market optimization, and scalable infrastructure within SaaS portfolio companies.

  • SaaS Metrics & Growth: Leverage expertise in key SaaS KPIs (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, net retention, etc.) to guide decision-making and drive recurring revenue growth.

  • Operational Scale: Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency across product, sales, marketing, customer success, and finance operations.

  • Strategic Projects: Lead or support initiatives such as new product launches, international expansion, pricing optimization, and customer journey transformation.

  • M&A Integration: Oversee operational diligence and post-close integration efforts, ensuring systems, culture, and workflows align with growth goals.

  • Talent Development: Act as a trusted advisor to CEOs and management teams; mentor rising leaders to build high-performing, accountable teams.

  • Board and PE Reporting: Serve as the bridge between portfolio leadership and the private equity firm, ensuring transparency, alignment, and execution of the investment thesis.

  • Industry Leadership: Stay ahead of SaaS and technology trends to offer insight into market dynamics and evolving customer demands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years of leadership experience, including operating roles at SaaS companies and/or as an Operating Partner in a private equity environment.

  • Deep understanding of SaaS financial and operational metrics with a proven track record of scaling recurring revenue businesses.

  • Strong P&L experience and expertise in data-driven performance management.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence CEOs, boards, and functional leaders.

  • Demonstrated experience in M&A, including due diligence and integration planning.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support portfolio operations across North America.
