The
HR Generalist
will be responsible for managing and executing all HR-related activities for our subsidiary in Lima, Peru, reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
This role will oversee day-to-day human resources operations, including recruitment and onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Peruvian labor legislation.
The
HR Generalist
will also be accountable for implementing corporate HR policies at the local level, ensuring alignment with global standards while addressing regional needs.
Additionally, they will foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, support employee engagement initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to managers and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and work-related issues.
(holidays, leave, benefits, - compensation, pay, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with Peruvian labor laws and regulations.
- Process and administer monthly employee payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Manage tax withholdings, social security contributions, and other necessary deductions.
- Prepare, review, and manage employment contracts, including drafting terms and conditions.
- Manage contract renewals and termination processes.
- Manage employee exit processes, including exit interviews and necessary documentation.
- Support the recruitment and selection process, from job posting to onboarding new employees.
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance data in our HR portal.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Support in organizing events and activities to enhance the work environment.
- Promote and ensure a culture of safety and ensure all employees are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
- Support the performance process, including tracking performance reviews and providing guidance to managers and employees.
- Prepare reports and analyze HR data as needed.
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar position.
- Experience managing payroll processes using Buk or other HR management platforms is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced level of office package (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc).
- Fluent in English.
