What We Are Looking For:
We're seeking a Level 1 Autonomy Field Engineer or Technician to provide specialized technical support for ARDVARC autonomous drilling systems in the mining industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience with electric drills and a strong background in industrial automation.
This position can be based in either Lima or Arequipa.
What You Need:
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering, or Technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electronics, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of drill operations or a solid understanding of daily drill functionality.
- In-depth technical knowledge of rotary drills, including mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with electric drills such as Komatsu 320XPC, Caterpillar MD6640 or Epiroc PV271/PV351.
- Strong technical skills in diagnosing failures in drill control system and base machine.
- Solid knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electric motors, variable speed drives, PLC programming, and automation equipment.
- Valid driver's license (AII-B preferred).
- High adaptability to change and ability to work independently and responsibly.
What You Will Do:
- Provide field technical support for the ARDVARC Autonomy System components (installation, maintenance, diagnostics).
- Assist drill control room operators with system-related issues.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders for any autonomy action needed.
- Coordinate daily autonomy-related needs with Maintenance and Operations teams.
- Report field technical issues to Level 2 Engineers or escalate to the Factory when required.
- Prepare technical reports and service documentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis of drill or autonomy system failures.
- Maintain clear communication at all levels regarding autonomous system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.
- Work under mining site rotation schedules in Toquepala/Antapaccay u otros (e.g., 10x10, 8x6, or similar).
