Job Overview
Perform medical services and related work to ensure patient well-being at a medical facility.
Specialize in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET, and ultrasound.
Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and procedures as needed.
Essential Duties
- Conduct medical assessments, diagnose, and treat using radiology procedures.
Establish and monitor appropriate care levels, emphasizing health education and preventive care.
- Gather comprehensive or focused medical histories, perform physical exams, maintain accurate medical records, and prepare reports.
- Develop diagnostic treatment plans, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications and treatments.
- Interpret and report imaging results, recommend treatments, and suggest additional tests when necessary.
- Serve as an expert consultant to referring physicians and guide radiology technologists in quality exam performance.
- Identify patients requiring high-level care and coordinate transfers; refer patients for further treatment as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and departmental standards, including documentation per JCAHO and other agencies.
- Maintain professional credentials, stay updated on medical advancements, and participate in meetings and related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or D.O. Degree in Medicine.
- At least 1 year of experience as an MD or DO.
- Proficiency in general radiology techniques including X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Strong analytical and effective action-taking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with staff, patients, and families.
- High confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Emergency Radiology experience.
- Two or more years of experience as an MD or DO.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid California medical license/certification.
- American Board of Radiology certification in radiology or subspecialties.
- DEA certification.
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City), obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held.
Additional Details
The hourly rate ranges from $118.50 to $195.52.
