About the Company
We’re supporting a rapidly scaling launch vehicle team hiring experienced avionics leaders to guide system-level integration, validation, and test.
These are hands-on leadership roles with real scope and influence: you’ll lead high-functioning engineering teams, shape the verification strategy, and own the development of integrated test platforms including HITL and GSE.
It’s a rare opportunity to work across architecture, execution, and team development — with room to scale your org and make technical decisions that directly impact flight readiness.
Why This Opportunity?
- High technical autonomy + clear org-level influence
- Build systems that fly — and the teams that make it happen
- Join a fast-moving, high-talent environment solving real-world engineering challenges
- Backed by meaningful funding, momentum, and vision
What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end avionics integration and test strategy — from component validation to vehicle-level readiness
- Own system verification workflows — including requirements tracking, interface validation, and full configuration management
- Build and evolve HITL, subsystem testbeds, and avionics GSE to support functional and environmental testing
- Guide high-performing teams — mentoring senior ICs and managing managers as needed
- Collaborate across core disciplines — including propulsion, GNC, software, and vehicle integration
- Represent avionics systems in critical path planning, risk reviews, and live operations
- Support on-console test operations at stage-level and launch campaigns
Requirements
- 8–12+ years in avionics, systems integration, or test engineering
- 3+ years leading technical teams — ideally managing managers or growing leads
- Experience working with complex hardware-software systems — ideally in aerospace, autonomous systems, or defense
- Strong understanding of system-level test architecture — including environmental standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with test tools and scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Background in electrical or systems engineering preferred
Preferred Experience
- Launch vehicle, spacecraft, or high-reliability flight system experience
- Demonstrated success in startup or rapid-iteration environments
- Experience managing tough organizational decisions or scaling high-impact teams
- Experience supporting flight-readiness and launch ops
Additional
- Hiring Range: $236,000 - $337,000 USD
