Job Overview
USC Communications is seeking an Assistant Director of Advancement Communications to join its team, reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Communications.
This role involves developing strategic content to promote major, principal, and transformational gifts of $1 million and above, supporting fundraising and stewardship efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and edit compelling copy for proposals, donor stories, and other communications supporting high-value gifts.
- Manage review and approval processes, ensuring timely delivery of final products.
- Research and collaborate with subject matter experts to create technical and storytelling content.
- Maintain knowledge of university priorities, branding, and storytelling.
- Support various communication projects, including impact reports and marketing collateral.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years in nonprofit or higher education advancement/development writing.
- Experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years in marketing and/or communications.
Additional Information
This position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence at USC Tower in downtown Los Angeles.
The salary range is $94,968.56 to $107,000.00, with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, tuition benefits, and more.
